A high-level IP delegation from the UK has just completed a successful trip to China in which a series of landmark agreements and new initiatives have been launched.

This closer bilateral collaboration is aimed at promoting cross-border business and innovation by providing UK and Chinese businesses with greater support in dealing with common IP pitfalls and greater certainty and confidence in the mechanisms by which they can enforce their IP in China.  In particular, the presiding judge of the UK Intellectual Property Enterprise Court, Richard Hacon, spent time with senior judges at the Supreme People’s Court and specialist IP courts in Guangzhou and Beijing discussing key IP enforcement topics.

We welcome the efforts of the UK delegation and their Chinese hosts – any programme which successfully assists innovative UK companies and those with strong brands to enter the Chinese market with confidence, and vice versa, will be a boon for UK-China trade.
